Rentec Starter is designed for those just getting started and includes core features for a flat $20 monthly fee. Rentec Pro is designed for professional landlords or building managers and includes additional advanced features like access to the API, Zapier Integrations, and Bank Sync.

Yes! You can upgrade to Rentec Pro or Rentec PM at any time directly within your account settings. Your data will remain intact, and you'll immediately gain access to the additional features and discounts included with your new plan.

Once your account has been upgraded to either Rentec Pro or PM it cannot be downgraded to Starter. Rentec Starter Edition is specifically designed as a springboard platform for landlords who want to get started using Rentec Direct's established and proven software, at a lower price point. Once a landlord is established it is common for landlords to opt to move to Rentec Pro for the discounted payment processing and time savings available from AI tools and API integrations.

For Rentec Starter Edition, ACH payments cost $2 per transaction. If at any time you upgrade to Rentec Pro those transction fees go away. Online credit card payments cost 3.5% of the transaction amount, which is often paid by the tenant (your choice). Rentec Pro and PM also offers a nationwide cash payment network which allows tenants to pay rent with cash at over 20,000 locations. You can upgrade to Rentec Pro at any time.

Rentec Direct Starter Edition offers multiple screening packages which range from $20 to $35. The premium screening package is the most popular and it includes a credit report and FICO score as well as a national criminal search and national eviction search.
